Contemporary laundry room designs are all about making functional spaces that don’t get easily procrastinated from but still get done well and quickly.
Simple Laundry Room
Here are a few simple ways to bring order and efficiency to your laundry area:
Use space wisely: Make sure you use the available space in your laundry room well. You can put your clothes on one side of the room and other items on the other side. You can also have a place where you can keep your folded laundry, so it’s out of sight.
Keep things organized: Many laundry rooms feature two or more hampers or baskets in which clothes are hung. This makes it hard to find and organize clothes in the case you need them. Instead, make use of hampers that hang down, making it much easier to locate clothes and their corresponding hampers.
They are particularly helpful in the evening because they can illuminate your laundry area for a much more appealing appearance.
You can even try hanging clothes that match, if you want. Just be sure that they’re not too bulky or too big. Hang items that are at least six feet long, or so, because that’s a good rule of thumb.
Use the space wisely: Even a small space will be able to look more spacious if you have ample lighting. Don’t use just one overhead light or a bright spotlight if there aren’t lots of people in the laundry area. Use accent lights instead. Put some fluorescent bulbs on top of window sills or place them around a shower curtain rod, too.
You don’t always have to use the same materials for your laundry room design. Some people like to use fabrics for their rooms. If you don’t have any, you can use other colors, too. You can mix and match different fabrics and make your room look more attractive.
